There is a small GPS antenna available from Motorola under the name ONCORE (dimensions 49.6 x 43 x 18 mm) and GPS reciever ( 50.8 x 82.6 x16.3 mm). The output messages available are latitude, longitude, height, tracking status, with software selectable output rate (continuous or poll) and  TTL interface. All this works on 5v dc.
